Headaches/Migraines

Headaches and migraines can often stem from dysfunction in the upper cervical spine. Restrictions in these joints, combined with abnormal input from surrounding cervical muscles can contribute to pain referral patterns into the head and face. We address the underlying cervical dysfunction to help reduce headache/migraine frequency and intensity. Treatments such as: manual therapy, dry needling, targeted exercises/stretches may be used.

Dry Needling

Thin needles are inserted to trigger points to assist with immediate pain relief and improved function. Dry needling can help with headaches, TMJ/TMD, foot drop, cervical/lumbar radiculopathy, postural pain, achilles tendinitis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and more! (There is no injection of medication with dry needling.)

Vestibular Treatment

Vestibular treatment is designed for patients experiencing dizziness, imbalance and vertigo symptoms. Diagnoses include BPPV, vestibular migraines, vestibular hypofunction, and cervicogenic dizziness.

Concussion Treatment

Concussion and post-concussion syndrome treatment addresses symptoms that occurred from a concussion including neck pain, ANS deregulation, and vestibular symptoms. Treatment concentrates on targeting the source of the ongoing symptoms and may include a Buffalo Concussion Treadmill Test, neck examination, vestibular testing and Chicago Blackhawks Test for return to play. Getting into a concussion specialist 24-48 hours after a concussion occurs can decrease the occurrence of post-concussion syndrome.

Manual Therapy

Our hands-on treatments are designed to reduce pain, restore mobility and optimize performance. Treatments including: joint mobilizations, deep tissue massage, cupping, AISTM and dry needling are used to address muscle tension, improve circulation and enhance recovery.

Running Analysis

A recorded treadmill running analysis to determine sources of pain during running. A breakdown of weaknesses with exercise suggestions are provided. Cadence and running technique are addressed.

Blood Flow Restriction

Blood flow restriction (BFR) uses specialized cuffs to stimulate muscle growth, strength and endurance with less stress on the joints. BFR is used when increased activity is painful and a lower threshold of activity is required to gain muscle strength to assist with returning to normal activity.
